Enhanced Supply Chain Visibility through Traceability

The training included an introduction to the traceability concepts for supply chains, ethics of use and security risks for data protection. I also had an insight into the technologies used for maximising supply chain outputs and maintaining an effective traceability model using Industry 4.0 processes including PLCs (Omron PLC), computer vision, data analytics, databasing and the Internet of Things (IoT). This course allowed me to develop a better and more in-depth understanding of the principles of supply chain traceability and the applicable legislative obligations nationally and internationally (International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and GS1 standards). I had hands-on training to develop and implement a supply chain traceability strategy using Omron PLC, bar/QR code scanner and cloud services to check code data, encrypt/decrypt data and check the database for product analysis.
